Pre-purchase Stump Inspections

Before going unconditional on a house contract, it is important to ensure that the entire house is in a good condition. Most people usually book in a Building and Pest inspection, however overlook the need for a stump inspection when purchasing a house on stumps.

The stumps are the foundations of your home and have a flow on effect for everything above so should be structurally sound before any renovation works are completed in the house. A lot of Queenslander or Colonial homes around Toowoomba, Warwick and the Darling Downs still have the original timber stumps holding the house up and many are over 100 years old!

Timber stumps are great for setting off the heritage look, but should be checked for damage from termites or moisture and to ensure the correct level is being maintained, particularly in reactive soils.

The main purpose of a pre-purchase stump inspection is to make sure that your house is nice and level and that your foundations are in good working order. The team at Bohm Industries can carry out inspections and look for any problems like drainage or anything that might threaten the health of the house stumps.

A stump inspection is a fairly simple process. We get our laser out, check all the heights, figure out exactly how much things need to move, and whether or not we need to replace stumps, or we can just chock things and level things out.

We offer a stump inspection service, providing our clients with a complete written report and quote on the cost involved in repairing any unsatisfactory stumps.

Foundations can be a huge cost if they're not maintained properly. With our pre-purchase stump inspection, we ensure that the foundations are in good working order, and everything's nice and level.

A pre purchase stump inspection Is the perfect place to start if you're thinking about renovations or extensions.
